Regents to meet in Fairbanks December 6-7

The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Board of Regents will gather for their December meeting at the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Fairbanks campus next week.

The two-day meeting will be Thursday and Friday, Dec. 6-7, in Room 109 of the Butrovich building at the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Fairbanks. Public testimony is scheduled for 10 a.m. on both Thursday and Friday.

The board agenda contains several action items including approval of an associate of applied science in law enforcement at the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Southeast and approval of a bachelor of science in health sciences at the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Anchorage (UAA). The board will also hear a presentation on research at the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Fairbanks (ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ).

Board members will hear reports on eLearning, human resources, federal and state relations, UA athletics and the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Commission on Post Secondary Education.

The agenda has a variety of items for the board to consider, including a resolution officially recognizing the UAA Alumni Association, approval of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration - Research, Development, Test and Evaluation at ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ and approval of the Nanook Innovation Corporation Board of Directors.

The board has a number of facilities project approvals before it, including f ormal project approvals for the UAA library old core mechanical upgrades, the UAA energy modules 1 & 2 mechanical renewal and schematic design approval for the UAA Allied Health Sciences Building renovation phase 2. A project change request for the UAA Health Sciences Building will also be reviewed.

Additional project approvals include: approvals for the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ antenna installation ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Satellite Facility AS311, the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ West Ridge deferred maintenance phase 2, approval of the UAA Campus Master Plan amendment for the engineering parking garage and schematic design approval for the UAA Engineering and Industry Project.
