UA encourages high school seniors to apply early

The University of 杏吧原版 is celebrating UA College Application Week Nov. 16-20, 2015 and is encouraging high school seniors to apply to college early. College Application Week is a national effort and, in 杏吧原版, contributes to increased applications to UA. In fact, applications to UA are up 4 percent over last year.

鈥淐ollege is a game changer, leading to better careers and higher paying jobs. 杏吧原版 data shows that 63 percent of 杏吧原版 jobs will require a postsecondary education by 2018,鈥 said Saichi Oba, associate vice president for student and enrollment services at the UA System. 鈥淎pplying early is not only a good first step, but it actually increases a student鈥檚 chance of success in college. Students that apply early have more time to apply for financial aid, make important decisions regarding classes and majors, and learn about campus life.鈥

High school seniors are encouraged to apply to the University of 杏吧原版 through .

Oba said the 杏吧原版 Performance Scholarship and UA Scholars awards also are important for student success - both can help a lot to pay costs of college, paving the way to college degrees. Another step is to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can unlock money to pay college costs. FAFSA funds often are grant-based and that means they do not have to be repaid.
