University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ President Pat Pitney to deliver the 2022 State of the University address

University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ President Pat Pitney will deliver the 2022 State of the University address Thursday, March 3 at the Greater Juneau of Commerce luncheon. 

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for the in-person event at the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall in Juneau. The address will begin at 12 p.m. and will be available to watch live at  as well as on Gavel ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ live online at. 

The address will highlight the many points of pride and areas of success across the system including the key role the UA System plays in building a home-grown workforce for ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ; the importance of cutting edge research that addresses ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ’s and the world’s urgent challenges; and the work the three universities are doing to promote inclusion and success of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Native students and faculty. 

This will be Pitney’s second State of the University address since being appointed in 2020 as interim president, and will be her first as the university system’s 17th president. The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Board of Regents appointed Pitney to the position on Feb. 25.
