FAIRBANKS -- The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ’s FY20 operating and capital budgets are set for approval by the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Board of Regents at its Nov. 8-9 meeting on the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Fairbanks campus. The proposed operating budget request includes funding for increasing staff capacity to address campus sexual assault and enhance the university’s ongoing work toward creating a culture of safety and respect. The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ is undergoing its first-ever comprehensive salary and benefits review to better understand its market competitiveness, and to optimize internal equity, retention and recruitment. Funding is also included for the university’s strategic initiatives focused on research, workforce/economic development and increasing enrollment.

UA President Jim Johnsen will discuss the university’s 2040 visioning work, after which Dennis Jones and Aims C. McGuinness Jr. with the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems will present information regarding effective board governance.

Other business includes approving a policy for delayed reports of misconduct; Title IX compliance update and review of Title IX scorecards; and the risk services annual report. Regents also will be approving resolutions of appreciation for two board members nearing the conclusion of their terms, Deena Bishop and Jyotsna Heckman.

Regents will hold a public evening gathering from 5:30 –6:30 p.m. at the Elvey Globe Room on the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ campus on Thursday, Nov. 8.
