John Bania, Darroll R. Hargraves join UA Board of Regents
April 19, 2019
On Thursday, April 18, the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Senate/House Joint Committee confirmed John Bania and Darroll R. Hargraves as members of University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Board of Regents. Gov. Michael Dunleavy appointed Regent Hargraves on January 3, and Regent Bania on February 1.

Fred Villa earns vocational training award

Associate Vice President for Workforce Programs Fred Villa was recently honored with a statewide award recognizing his tireless and heartfelt efforts to advance career and technical education in ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ. Commissioner Tamika Ledbetter presented him with the David G. Stone Postsecondary Career and Technical Education Administrator of the Year Award during the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Workforce Investment Board in February.

University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ President Jim Johnsen joined the nation’s top military leaders for a two-day national discussion on sexual assault and harassment on the campuses of America’s colleges, universities and service academies. Johnsen was part of a leadership panel with other prominent higher education leaders, and will present at a breakout session on April 4.

John Wanamaker hired as Chief Innovation Officer

The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ has appointed John Wanamaker as Chief Innovation Officer. In this position, he works with the president and chancellors to coordinate and champion entrepreneurship, innovation and commercialization efforts across the system.

Dustin Bryant hired as Director of Federal Relations

Dustin Bryant joined UA's leadership team on Dec. 3 as the director of federal relations for the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ System. He is based in Washington, D.C. where he works closely with our government relations team on critical federal issues including efforts to increase our land grant, federal investment at UA, and research-related priorities.
