Dr. Heidi Pearson, UAS Marine Biology Professor receives Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award

Dr. Heidi Pearson, Professor of Marine Biology at the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Southeast (UAS), has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award in Marine Biology to monitor marine mammals in Portugal for Fall 2025.

Nickole Conley appointed Interim Chief Human Resources Officer

President Pat Pitney has appointed ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Chief of Staff Nickole Conley as the UA system's interim Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective July 21, 2025. Conley will be taking over the new role from outgoing CHRO Memry Dahl, who has served as CHRO since 2022.

ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ interim chancellor selection process underway

President Pitney is accepting applications and nominations for the interim ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ chancellor through June 23. The appointment is expected in early July, with a permanent search to follow in fall 2025.

ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Cooperative Extension director finalist presentations scheduled

The ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Cooperative Extension Service (Extension) will host Zoom presentations from three finalists vying to serve as the program's new director. Extension serves some 50,000 ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æns annually, providing a link between ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ's myriad people and communities by interpreting and extending relevant university, research-based knowledge in an understandable and usable form to the public.

Kerynn Fisher appointed executive officer for UA Board of Regents
