The ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ State Committee for Research (SCoR) is seeking nominations for the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Innovators Hall of Fame. Past honorees include ancient and contemporary inventors, tenacious researchers, bold entrepreneurs, and other ingenious ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æns.

Call for proposals: Faculty Initiative Fund

The FIF is a $300,000 financial commitment by the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ to promote inter-university collaboration in program development, scholarly endeavors and student engagement with the goal of reducing the cost to degree and promoting internship opportunities for students. Proposals are due by November 7.

UA responds to UNAC Complaint and Files its Own

The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ administration filed a response to the Unfair Labor Practice detailing the university's actions and good faith efforts to negotiate. The administration also filed its own complaint with the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Labor Relations Agency alleging unlawful labor practices by UNAC to ensure the entire context of the negotiations process is before the hearing officer.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Opened October 1

The FAFSA is required for UA scholarships, federal aid and most scholarships. Some institutions have early FAFSA deadlines. Check with your school's Financial Aid Office.

Clery Act Annual Security Reports are available

The Campus Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 (known as the "Clery Act" ) and the Campus Fire Safety Right-to-Know Act require that colleges and universities provide timely warnings of crimes that represent a threat to the campus community, to publish an annual security report and an annual fire safety report, distribute the reports to all students and ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æs, and inform prospective students and ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æs about the reports.

The First National Bank ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Finance Lab is scheduled to open in fall 2023. The lab, housed at UAA, will support business education and collaborative learning opportunities for students attending all three of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ's public universities.

UA Board of Regents set FY24 budget priorities, recognize outstanding staff

During its two-day meeting in Juneau, the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Board of Regents addressed ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ's critical needs for a qualified workforce, the success of the dual enrollment programs across the system, and investments in the university to improve the student experience, faculty capacity, research and innovation to empower ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ's future.

Libby Roderick receives 2022 Bullock Prize in recognition of service to the UA system

The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Foundation Board of Directors has awarded the 2022 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence to Libby Roderick. Roderick, who has been a UAA staff member since 2006, is the director of the Difficult Dialogues Initiative and associate director of the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence.
