The television program "ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Weather" on KUAC's UATV channel 9.4 will end July 1, 2023, after 45 years of continuous broadcast. A web-based forecast included in the TV broadcast will continue to be available via multiple sources listed on the NWS website.

Beginning June 1, 2023, ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ and UA System pages on Omni CMS will require "page check" on edited pages prior to publishing. The page check tool checks for misspelled words, broken links and accessibility errors.

ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ and OIT Realign Duties to Better Serve Users

OIT and ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ have begun a realignment of IT resources. The reorganization will create a new ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ IT Department headed by VCAS Julie Queen, which will oversee mission-enabling resources for students, staff, and faculty at both ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ and the System Office. OIT under CITO Shier will shift its focus to enhancing IT efforts for the entire UA System, and will continue to support Cybersecurity and LAN for ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ.

Data Center outage May 13 and 20 will affect Internet, VPN access and shared drives

ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Facilities Services will be conducting a planned maintenance power shutdown in the Butrovich Building to integrate a new Uninterruptible Power Supply for the Butrovich Data Center. The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Fairbanks main campus and all ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ community campuses and outreach centers will not have Internet access during the planned maintenance shutdown periods. System Office and ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ users will also lose access to VPN services and any shared file servers hosted in the BDC.

NOTICE: Planned UA Data Center Outages May 13 & May 20

ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Facilities Services will be conducting a planned maintenance power shutdown in the Butrovich Building to integrate a new Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the Butrovich Data Center (BDC). This will mean that many UA data systems served out of the BDC will be unavailable during the following timeframes on May 13 and May 20.
