For 49 hours, the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ (UA) community united in an extraordinary show of support for the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Fairbanks, University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Anchorage and University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Southeast. Because of the generosity of more than 2,500 of UA's alumni and friends, over $1.3 million was raised during UA Giving Day.

Now Accepting Proposals for the Harold T. Caven Professorship in Business and Finance

The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Foundation is accepting proposals from Jan. 9 - April 4, 2025 for the Harold T. Caven Professorship in Business and Finance (Caven Professorship). Proposals will be accepted from faculty members in business and finance within the UA system. The professorship allows for a UA faculty member to extend and expand UA’s business and finance research and outreach activities throughout ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ.

Angus Gavin Migratory Bird Research Grant Applications Due by January 17, 2025

Fairbanks, AK - Scientists within the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ System (ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ, UAA, UAS), including graduate students and faculty members, are invited to apply for the Angus Gavin Memorial Migratory Bird Research Grant (Gavin Grant). Applications may be submitted through Friday, January 17, for 2025 field season proposals. The selection committee will make award selections between $15,000 - $30,000 for one or more applicants.

Libby Roderick receives 2022 Bullock Prize

The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Foundation Board of Directors has awarded the 2022 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence to Libby Roderick. Roderick, who has been a UAA staff member since 2006, is the director of the Difficult Dialogues Initiative and associate director of the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence. Roderick received the award Wednesday during the Foundation's board meeting in Fairbanks.

Northrim Bank makes a major investment in UA's three universities

A major, long-time supporter of the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ system, Northrim Bank, has gifted $259,500 to fund UA initiatives that advance research about ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ's economy and fiscal policy, expand business education and build entrepreneurship capacity. Northrim's donation also includes funding to five community campuses where Northrim ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æs live and work.
